2015 National Underground Railroad Conference at Hilton Head Island, SCPOSTPONED: NO LONGER June 17-20-2015
The dates for the 2015 National Underground Railroad Conference have been unexpectedly
changed to accommodate government conference procedures. The conference will not
beheld in June. The conference planning team is re-scheduling the conference dates and
will send a notice out when they have been finalized. We sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience caused by this change. This year the annual conference will explore the
transition from slavery to freedom, while highlighting Hilton Head's Mitchelville, established
in 1862 as the first self-governing town of formerly enslaved people in America.
