Coleman Feaster Mobley
Family Assocation (CFMFA)
2024 Reunion
Friday, October 4th through Sunday, October 6th
Planned Schedule of Events (Newsletter)
Greetings cousins and friends,
We will start out by saying, we hope this message finds everyone well.
We are very sorry to have to report that there is little chance of power and water being restored to
Feasterville before this weekend. Therefore, with no restrooms or water and widespread infrastructure
disruptions, we must cancel all planned activities for the Reunion. The Blair, SC and Newberry
areas were hit hard by Helene. Many will be without power and water for days to come. However, the
Feasterville properties will be open for visitors this weekend, and a few members of the Association
will be on site to greet those who want to come out or do not get this message. If you do, gas up before
hand, bring drinking water, lunch and anything you might need. We should have the port-a-potty at the
Boarding House. Please contact Ron or Eddie, if you have any questions.

Saturday, October 5th
We will have guided tours led by local experts.
Space is limited so please RSVP by or Call Ron.
Tours will begin 9:15 AM to 12:30, breaking for (your own picnic) lunch at Boarding House.
Starting with the ghost town of Shelton and the ruins of the world-renowned Shivar Springs.
Then one of the oldest landmarks in South Carolina, Lyles Ford.
After lunch we can visit other local sites like the Antioch Church, or the family cemeteries.
These tours will require some walking over rugged terrain (especially Lyles Ford),
so bring your hiking shoes, water and sun protection.

The secret to a covered dish dinner is the individual quality of each item,
made with extra care by families that are a part of something grand and historic.
The cost of all this: Bring a dish, register & pay dues at the registration table, & self-serve.
The Association provides plates, utensils, napkins & iced tea. Some tables & chairs will be
provided, but bringing your own is always a good idea.
Rules about food: Please practice good food safety. Put your name on your dish & provide
a serving spoon if necessary.
The Picnic depends on the honor of each family & attendee providing a good amount of
covered dish food so we can fill the tables.
A convenient & extremely clean, handicap-accessible rest room available by Boarding House,
in addition to our two restrooms in the Boarding House.
